Winter Practice Canceled Today
December 20th, 2008Due to the inclement weather, the practice scheduled today at the Middle School has been canceled. Due to the holidays, the next 2 weeks are off, and then we will resume on Saturday, January 10 at a special time, 12:30-2:30 pm. After that, we will resume at 10am-12pm the following weeks. Disappointing turn-out for first Winter workout
December 14th, 2008We held our first winter practice this Saturday, 12/13 and only had 3 girls show. These practices are there to help all of you develop your skills, and we need as many there as possible to make them truly effective. Our next one is set for next Saturday, 12/20, at 10 am at the Watkins Glen Middle School Girls gymnasium. See you there and pass the word. All age divisions are welcome to attend.
Reminder on Winter Workouts
December 11th, 2008Please remember the workouts will begin this Saturday, 12/13 from 10 am-noon at the girls gym at the WG Middle School. Please use the back entrance. We will be having our second practice the following Saturday same time. After 2 weekends off for the holidays, we will resume on January 10 but from 12:30-2:30 pm. We will then go back to the original times on 1/17 and every week thereafter until March 14 when they will end. Jeff, who has assisted our pitchers for several years, will again be running free pitching clinics, and the coaching staff will be present to assist with hitting, baserunning, and fielding. Winter Workout Schedule
December 9th, 2008For all those who are interested, there will be winter workouts beginning on Saturday, December 13, 2008. These will be held at the Middle School Girls Gym starting at 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Entrance can be made at the back entrance of the school. We hope to have pitching instruction as well as batting and fielding. If you have any questions, you can call Ron at 346-1591
Winter Workouts Unlikely
November 17th, 2008Unfortunately, it does not appear likely we will be able to sponsor winter workouts or pitching clinics this year as the Fieldhouse does not seem to be available due to the practice schedules for all the winter school sports teams. Several participants from last season would prefer not to utilize BC Cate this year due to its small area. We will continue to work on it, but at this time, we may need to wait until Spring.
Fall and Winter Workouts
October 16th, 2008It doesn’t look good right now for winter pitching clinics and practices as the school is having trouble finding times and dates for us. We have asked that they keep trying. We will let you know. As a reminder, the fall practices are done for the year due to lack of interest.
Lack of Interest Terminates Fall Workouts
October 13th, 2008Based on dwindling attendance and apparent lack of interest, we have decided to terminate fall practices for 16U/19U players. We decreased attendance weekly from 3 to 2 to 0 week to week. Also, unless Watkins Glen School comes thru for us on days and times for winter pitching clinics/winter workouts, as well as a site, we will be forced to cancel our plans for winter pitching clinics/winter workouts. I will keep you informed, but at this date it does not look good. imter workouts we will be forced to cancel these plans also.
This Sunday’s Practice to Start at 5 pm
October 10th, 2008This Sunday’s practice will start at 5 pm and end at 6:30 pm. This past Sunday the turnout was small. In order to continue these practices, we need more girls to show. Also, this winter’s indoor practices are in jeopardy as we have not been successful in getting the WGCS to commit to a day or location. We are still trying. Stay tuned.
16U and 19U Practice on for Sunday
